Pre-Conference Workshops

Please note that the venue for the pre-conference workshops has changed and is now the Christchurch College of Education, Dovedale Ave, in Ilam. Please make your own way there, or meet outside the Convention Centre on Kilmore Street at 12 noon to catch the shuttle that will be available.

The afternoon starts with lunch at 12.30 in the college lounge, then moves to Wheki 250 and 251 for the first session, 1.30 – 3pm. Afternoon tea is at 3pm and the second session is from 3.30 – 5pm.

 

Conference Opening

The conference will open on Friday evening with a powhiri at 6.30pm. If you plan to attend the opening, please gather outside the Convention Centre, on Kilmore Street at 6.15pm, in preparation for the powhiri. This will be followed by refreshments and entertainment.

 

The conference programme will include:

  • High level national and international keynote speakers to provoke, challenge and inspire delegates
  • Recent research, trends and directions in language teaching and learning
  • Networking opportunities
  • Learning opportunities through papers, workshops, posters and displays
