CLESOL 2006 REGISTRATION GRANT

The committee for the 2006 CLESOL conference is offering assistance to people who, because of financial restraints, would otherwise not be able to attend the conference. This assistance comes in the form of payment for part or all of the registration fee and/or accommodation. This is open to residents or citizens of New Zealand only. No assistance can be given to overseas residents.

Accommodation grant
The committee will pay for you to stay in backpacker accommodation for up to 3 nights of the conference, depending on whether you are coming as a day registrant or full registrant. Transport to the venue is your own responsibility. Payment will be made direct to the backpackers. Those applying for the Community Language special fee may also apply for an accommodation grant.

Registration grant
The committee will pay for up to 75% of your registration fee. NOTE: This does not apply to the Community Language registration fee of $55.00 as this is already subsidised.

Applicants must find someone to act as a referee for their registration. This person should be able to confirm that the applicant requires financial assistance. The referee might be someone you work with, but should not be a family member.

Applications for the CLESOL grant closed on 30 June 2006.

COMMUNITY LANGUAGES’ DAY

The Community Languages’ day is on Monday 2 October. A limited number of places is available for delegates who come from the Community Languages’ sector. The fee for these delegates is $55.00. To be eligible for the Community Language registration fee you must be associated with a Community Language group. The conference organisers will check that you belong to this group before registering you. Your registration must be accompanied by your $55.00 or your registration cannot be processed. To apply, please complete the Community Languages’ section on the Registration Form

As a member of the Community Languages’ sector you can also apply for a grant for subsidised accommodation.

You are unable to apply for the registration grant and Community Languages’ day registration through the secure online registration form.
