GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPSWe are determined not to let financial pressures keep people away. If you require financial assistance to attend the 2008 CLESOL Conference, please apply for a grant or scholarship.
CLESOL 2008 GRANTThe committee for the 2008 CLESOL conference is offering assistance to people who, because of financial restraints, would otherwise not be able to attend the conference. This assistance comes in the form of payment of part or all of the registration fee and/or accommodation. This is open to residents and citizens of New Zealand only. No assistance can be given to overseas applicants.
Accommodation grantThe committee will pay for you to stay in backpacker accommodation for up to 3 nights of the conference, depending on whether you are coming as a day registrant or full registrant. Transport to the venue is your own responsibility. Payment will be made direct to the backpacker motel/lodge. Those applying for the Community Language special fee may also apply for an accommodation grant.
Registration grantThe committee will pay up to 75% of your registration fee.
Applicants must find someone to act as a referee for their registration. This person should be able to confirm that the applicant requires financial assistance. The referee might be someone you work with, but should not be a family member. More information will be available on how to apply when registrations open in early June 2008.
Applications for the CLESOL Grants close on TBC. |
